When you go into the tasks module, you may have noticed there are four different tasks options to work with: Email tasks, Webentry tasks, Import tasks, and User tasks. In this article we will go over user tasks specifically.

User tasks are created by users in your environment and assigned to themselves or some other user. In the first part of this article we will go over how to create a user task and the second part will cover how to resolve a user task. There are two ways a user can create task: 1) From the tasks module itself and 2) from any entity's profile that is related to the task they want to create (Contact, company, deal, fundraising opportunity, etc.)

  1. Create a task from the tasks module: this is the most straightforward way.

    1. First click on the tasks module form the menu to the left of your screen.

    2. Then click on the user tasks section at the top

    3. Then click on the green button that reads +Add at the top right

  2. Create a task from any entity's profile: in the following example we will be creating a task from a deal's profile. However, the same steps apply if you're creating a task from a contact, company, fundraising opportunity, or any other entity's profile.

First go to the deal profile you want to create a task under

    1. Then click on "Add task" found in the activity section to the right

    2. Start typing the description of your task and the window to fill out additional information about the task will immediately pull up to the right.

      1. Note: The owner will be automatically assigned to you (the person who is creating the task). However, you can change the owner by selecting a different user in this step. The owner is the person responsible for completing this task.

Now we'll go over how to resolve a user task. There are two ways to resolve a user task: 1) By going to the tasks module or 2) by marking it as completed under an entity's profile.

  1. Solve a task from the tasks module.

    1. First click on the tasks module from the menu to the left of your screen. Note: If you have any pending tasks assigned to you, then you will see a number to the right of the tasks module in the menu view specifying the amount of pending tasks to be completed by you.

    2. Then, make sure you click on the user tasks section at the top of the tasks module screen

    3. Make sure you click on "My pending"

    4. Select the task you want to resolve by clicking on it from the list of tasks

    5. Toggle the "Completed" button to green and save (Grey means it's pending, green means it's completed).

  2. Solve a task from an entity's profile. For the purpose of this example, we will show how to solve a task form a company's profile:

    1. Go to the entity profile where you have a pending task

    2. Scroll to the activity section. Here you will find any pending tasks related to this company to be completed.

    3. Click on the "To Do" yellow button to mark it as "Completed" and make it green

    4. Once completed, you will have the option to show all or hide completed tasks related to this entity profile
